Suecia
Hotel
Address :
MARQUES DE CASA RIERA, 4
28014 MADRID
SPAIN
|
Description :
The Hotel Suecia opened its doors in 1956 in an inauguration by Prince Bertil of Sweden. A hotel that from its beginnings has signified friendship, quality and international perspective. It is for this reason, or perhaps due to its proximity to the most important Art Centers in Spain, that Ernest Hemingway chose Hotel Suecia as his home at the end of 50's, adding to the hotel a charming historical atmosphere.
The historical significance is gently contrasted with the warm avant-garde atmosphere created by the interior renovations made in 2000. An avant-garde philosophy which is not only detected in the decoration, but also in the excellent service lavished on visitors by the staff, the quality of the gastronomical fare offered in the coffee shop and restaurant Bellman.
Each floor in a different colour, each room decorated differently, but all equally cosy and exclusive. Choose between 119 rooms and 9 junior suites with lounge and jacuzzi. The hotel dedicates two entire floors for non-smokers and provides special services such as hairdressers on request, free shoes shine and 2 meter large beds.

Overall :
Cleanliness : Excellent,
Facilities : Excellent ,
Location : Excellent
Other Comments : Thank you very much for your response. I would like to note, that Hotel Suecia was excellent. On our first night, there was a concert in the building next to us that kept us awake. They determined that they had a free room and we moved to it and were finally able to get to sleep. The rooms were clean, and though they do not have "No Smoking" rooms as we do here in the U.S, the rooms did not smell like smoke and the rooms were noise free. The breakfast buffet was also very good as was the service at the front desk. I will be returning to Madrid in the next few years and will place Hotel Suecia at the top of my list.
